Essential Catholic Survival Guide

Okay, so Veritas kinda dropped off the face of the earth for a while, so I propose we have a big kick off night June 18th to begin our Catholic Survival course. Does another day work better for these summer months? Anyone interested in having Veritas outside?

Also,this is a neat program that I've had a chance to participate in that's going on for Young Adults in the Vancouver Archdiocese (yes, Vancouver, Canada) thought you might want to check it out!

We'll meet at St. Cecilia's in the sanctuary and pick a place to go from there.

Church History.

Let's learn about Christ Yesterday, Today, and Forever. I thought starting with the rosary in the sanctuary would be fitting, considering it's the Month of May, dedicated to our Lady.

VERITAS

Tonight we're praying and talking about Evangelization and Young Adult Ministry in the Seattle Archdiocese. How do we get the TRUTH our to our peers?

6pm tonight beginning with Rosary for Young Adults in the Sanctuary. We will then be moving to our Beach location on Camano Island...complete with bonfire. :) See you here tonight!

Monday April 30th

Plans for Monday......

We're going to talk about Evangelization! Also, I'll be going to an Archdiocesan brainstorming meeting to get crackin' on Young Adult ministries. Let's plan on chatting a bit on Monday so I can represent all of you at the Tuesday meeting in Seattle.

We watched Molokai last night. A very cool movie about Bl. Damien of Molokai. One of the Actors from the Lord of the Rings was Bl. Damien. Very Cool!

Finale of TOB

Hey everyone,
tonight is the Finale of Christopher West's Created and Redeemed series. We'll finish watching in the youth room and then take a trip to Jimmy's Pizza and Pasta for dinner afterwards. Hey Young Adults, so we've got 5 of Christopher West's incredible talks finished, we're heading into talk #6 this week. With all of the talks, this one is speaking to the heart of matters and is incredibly relevant to how our World views sexuality. Tonight's talk is:

Chrism

Hi everyone,

I'm just about to e-mail the people that I have e-mail addresses for to invite you to come to the Chrism Mass

next Thursday March 29th at 7pm at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. I hope you can make it. It'd be cool to carpool and maybe catch some dinner down there. This is the mass where all the holy oils used in the Archdiocese are blessed for the entire year. It's a pretty cool mass. I get the special task of bringing the oils back to St. Cecilia's after the mass.

Hi everyone,
I was totally ready to have another Veritas Meeting tonight in the Youth Room but I forgot that there's the parish mission. Mass is at 7pm with Fr. Thomas Nathe and I think He'll be giving a talk in the evening too. I think we should just plan on going to that. He's doing confessions and spiritual direction too. What an awesome opportunity! Hope to see you all there!

Meeting Monday!

First Meeting

Hey! Our first meeting was great. We started with the Intro to JPII's Theology of the Body as taught by Christopher West in his series "Created and Redeemed". He's so cool. Next week we're making plans for either Starbucks or Acai Vida. Invite your friends! Even if they're from Arlington or Marysville.
Not sure if we'll be meeting on the 19th. Let me know if you're available to do so, it's a 3 day weekend so if there's a consensus that everyone needs a holiday then we'll just continue the next week. Thanks for coming! I hope your week is full of little revelations about the VERITAS you found last night!

This is the new blog for St. Cecilia's Veritas Young Adult group. We seek the Truth in Christ's voice spoken to the Catholic Church.
